Pretty painting of a male cardinal, one of the most beloved birds in the USA. This piece is a mixed media painting; it has oil paint, handmade paper and wax on a cradled panel. The words, "Je t'aime" are written in the upper left of the painting. Je t'aime is French for I love you. The texture is visible on this painting, very beautiful to behold in real life. There is nothing like an original painting. It is wired and ready to hang and the sides of the painting are painted black, so it stands out against the wall.
This piece would make a wonderful companion piece to "Female Cardinal (I love you)", because I think of the two cardinals as a couple.
